We would like to acknowledge the many organizations that foster and embody the spirit of Germanfest. Without the help of these organizations, Germanfest would not be possible.

Muenster Volunteer Fire Department

MVFD started in 1932. Since then we’ve grown to where we sit today at 40 members. MVFD responds to nearly 250 calls per year including fire, medical, and motor vehicle accidents. This year MVFD has partnered with the Muenster Jaycees to help put on Germanfest. We canceled the Annual MudBug Bash to concentrate on Germanfest and to make support easier for our donors.

We will be moving all the normal sponsorship money we raise for the MudBug Bash to the split pot with Jaycees for Germanfest. The money we raise together will go towards all bands, sound, lighting, tickets, booth needs, etc. As the financial backers of Germanfest we are opening up our sponsorships again to support the cause.

The Muenster Jaycees is an organization that prioritizes community service and leadership development. In Muenster we are proud to provide our members the opportunity to serve our community with numerous projects that benefit both our community and facilitate personal growth within our members.

The last sentence in the Jaycee creed is; “That service to humanity is the best work of life!” This has been our core principle for 60 plus years. Our organization is continuously evolving, and we utilize our members talents, as well as community support to cater to our community’s needs.

Sacred Heart Alumni and Supporters

The Sacred Heart Alumni & Supporters organization includes the entire Sacred Heart Catholic School family: alumni, parents, teachers, parents of former students, and all supporters of the school. It is through this organization that we work hard to save and raise money to reduce the cost of tuition for EVERY child who attends Sacred Heart Catholic School. The Alumni & Supporters also assist with many other expenses such as busses, campus improvements, technology, athletic expenses, and so much more.

Like the quote from Helen Keller that we often reference, “Alone we can do so little; together we can do so much," we find that the teamwork among the local volunteer organizations has brought us all together with mutual respect and greater success for the common goal of supporting and improving our community.

The Knights of Columbus

The Knights of Columbus (KC’s) is a Catholic fraternal organization founded in 1882 by a parish priest named Father Michael McGivney in New Haven, Connecticut. Father McGivney’s goal was to create unity amongst Catholic men and to provide aid and care to the widows and orphans of deceased members. The KC’s have since grown into one of the world’s largest charitable organizations, with over 2 million members and 16,000 councils. The primary mission of the Knights of Columbus is to empower Catholic men to live their faith at home, in their parish, at work, and in their community.

Locally, the Knights of Columbus is represented by Council 1459, which was chartered in 1910. Besides Sacred Heart Church, it is the oldest non-profit entity in Muenster. Over the last 115 years, Council 1459 has devoted its charitable focus on the faithful service of Sacred Heart parish and the community of Muenster. Some of the Council’s programs and events include Lenten fish fry’s, free throw contest, the Germanfest Fun Run, annual golf tournament, summer & fall raffles, Corpus Christi Eucharistic procession, Germanfest/Oktoberfest margarita booth, Good Neighbor Award, and the High School Football Feed. Money raised from these events is given back to the community; to help serve our Church, our parish, and its ministries, to support the right to Life, and to serve those in need. To be a Knight means a life of faith in action.

Muenster Main Street Merchants

Shopping locally in small towns is crucial because it directly contributes to the town's economic health by keeping money circulating within the community, supporting local jobs, fostering a sense of community, and preserving the unique character of the town by sustaining diverse small businesses that larger chains often cannot replicate; essentially, every dollar spent locally helps this town thrive and maintain its identity. This is why The Main Street Merchants was created. The downtown shops began this group in 2018 to help promote all downtown Muenster businesses.

Over the years the merchants have put on several events on Main Street such as Galantines Sip & Shop, Open houses, Cinco de Mayo, Market Days, Cigars & Cars, Mimosas on Main, Car shows, Wine Stroll Down Main, and Christkindle Market.

They are looking forward to some new events soon - Bed Races Down Main and several new Shop & Sip events. The downtown merchants truly appreciate all the local folks for shopping locally and supporting all the small-town shops.
